At All Saints we aim to provide a secure, friendly and stimulating environment which will enable children to develop social skills, independence and an enthusiasm for learning in preparation for school.
Our activities are carefully planned, but the emphasis is always on learning through play.
We take care to provide activities which use equipment appropriate to the age and stage of development of the children, which will stimulate their interest and encourage investigation as well as enabling them to practice existing skills and to build on those skills to acquire new ones.
We operate a key worker system, which means that each child has a member of staff responsible for their particular needs and their record keeping.
Rising 5’s
In these sessions, we prepare the children for school and the transition to school. However, as with the mixed sessions, the focus remains firmly on learning through play.
During the summer term we invite Reception Teachers from the school into the preschools to meet the children. We also take the children to All Saints school for a visit.
We believe in a three way partnership between Playgroup, Parents & Children.
Settling in
Settling into preschool can take time. Some children take longer than others. When they start some children stay happily on their own straight away. Many prefer Mum/Dad/Grandparents/Minder to stay for a while or even a whole session at first.
Chatting about preschool with your child will also help to make settling in easier. We want your child to be happy at preschool, so please do not hesitate to let us know if your child is not.

Our Mission
Bringing children and success together through play
We are a community playgroup that has been established since 1990 and is a non-profit making organisation.
We are staffed by dedicated fully qualified professionals in Early Years Education.
We believe in working in partnership with parents to ensure their children’s needs are identified and met.
We recognise that you as parents are your young child’s first educators and we welcome your involvment at preschool to ensure that your child’s home based learning and the learning we offer extend and reinforce each other.
We warmly welcome your involvement in all aspects of preschool.
We provide an extensive large enclosed and safe outside space with an abundance of stimulating toys to play with.
We are able to provide a safe and warm environment for children to learn and develop. We have a large number of resources to enable the children to explore both the indoor and outdoor environment. We believe that giving the children a variety of experiences which include a number of trips out within the local community help and support their learning.
We are Ofsted inspected and therefore follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidance and strongly believe that children develop and learn through play. We also work closely with All Saints’ Primary School and other local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition to school for every child. We operate a equal opportunities policy in which every child is valued regardless of sex, faith, religion, skin colour or culture.
